Welcome to Blink3Dworld, a gathering place and online resource for builders of Blink 3D environments. Though anyone working with Blink 3D will find much of use here, the site aims to focus in particular on reconstructions of historic architecture, virtual heritage projects, and aids for the teaching of art and architecture.

Sketchup-to-Ogre Exporter Released

Image

Over on the Ogre Forum, Kojack has released a new version of his Sketchup exporter. Sketchup is an easy-to-use modeller popular with designers of architecture, which is now available free from Google. Kojack's exporter makes it easy to model buildings or objects in Sketchup, then export them as OGRE meshes, which can then be used in Blink 3D environments. The environment below was created by downloading one of the many free Sketchup models available at Google's 3D warehouse, editing it a bit with Sketchup, exporting it with Kojack's exporter, and incorporating it into a Blink 3D environment:
